The
Swift Diamond Riders Snodeo has over the past ten years become a
premier
snowmobile event in New England. Drawing crowds over 10,000, the
Snodeo is
one event any snowmobile enthusiast doesn't want to miss.
Featuring demo
rides, radar runs, antiques snowmobile show, lots of food,
accessories, and
even a kids corner, the Swift Diamond Riders covers all the
bases for a fun,
family event.
DEMO RIDES: The SDR Snodeo is one of the
only national events where all four
Factories join in a demo ride program. Visitors will be able
to meet factory
representatives to answer their questions and have the
opportunity to test
ride the latest machines. The visitor will see first hand the
latest in
snowmobile technology. Last year featured four stroke engines
and trick
suspensions. Who knows what the factories have up their
sleeves this year?
RADAR RUN: Always popular, the Radar Run offers anyone the
opportunity to
"open 'er up" on a 1000' straight track. Your speed
is read on a radar gun
and recorded for you. For the more serious bunch, one track is
set for all
out power with many machines topping out at over 100 MPH. All
machines are
run one at a time to maintain the safest possible environment.
Prizes are
awarded at the end of the two days for the quickest machines
in their
division.
ANTIQUE SHOW: Throughout New England, collectors come together
at the Snodeo
to show their vintage snowmobiles. Machines dating back in the
60's, 50's,
and even some very rare mobile snow machines dating far beyond
that can be
seen. Marvel at how technology has evolved so quickly in the
sport of
snowmobiling. Meet these collectors and restorers of days gone
by. Who
knows, you may find that the old sled in the back of the barn
may be of
interest to someone. On Saturday, mid day, a parade of these
machines will
travel through the park. It really takes you back in time.
KIDS CORNER: In a safe, controlled coarse, the mini sleds wait
for your
child's turn at driving the scaled down sled. Any parent can't
help but
smile at the look on the kid's faces as they scoot around the
hay baled
track. Always a place to get a chuckle or two.
MUCH, MUCH, MORE: While on the grounds, check out the many
sales on
accessories, clothing, trailers, ATV's, and more. Meet the
diverse group of
State Legislators, Law Enforcement, Trail Administrators, and
other
officials who come to enjoy the gathering and to answer your
questions on
the future of our sport. Meet the WOKQ Morning Waking Crew.
Mark and
Danielle have become regulars to this great event.
