Diamond Pond Weather

Cleanup day at the park is scheduled for May 24th.

Please bring a shovel and a rake and be at the park at 8:30.

With all the snow we have had this winter, we had to plan this day later than usual.

We hope the ground will be clear of snow and not too much mud.

We wish to thank everyone in advance for their help, both for this day and for all the help we received through the season.

Thank You !!!!

The best season in a long time!!

Words from our Club President

Greetings All:
With Snodeo week past us, it's onto the final weeks of snowmobiling. With
all the snow, it's hard to imagine that we're just 4 weeks to April. So take
advantage of this unique season and get those final runs in.
The club groomers have an allotted number of hours that the State will fund.
Like any club, once you go over those hours, all funding by the State ceases
and the club has to fund 100% of the grooming costs. Each club will have to
decide how to handle this. As for SDR, we have budgeted our hours well into
March, so weeks of riding are still available.
The Snodeo show went off without incident. Ski-Doo had their new E-Tec and
4-Tec sleds available as did Arctic Cat with their new 1100 Turbo muscle
sled. Yamaha is going retro with their white and red graphics on the '09 and
Polaris is going strong with their IQ series. Due to dealer meetings
nationwide running the last week of Feb and March 1 hitting Saturday, we hit
one of those "once every 7 years" conflicts in schedule. Literature wasn't
available yet, but your local dealer will have them very, very soon. Hummer
was back giving demo cruises and a few vendors joined us. We are working on
some new lines to display and hope we can add to your experience.
This part of my report pains me. The number of volunteers were at an all
time low. While I fully realize the time off needed, the travel, etc. is an
issue, the event does go on; only now the load is shouldered on a few
people. When we used to have 20 help set up on Thursday, we have 9. When we
used to have 12-15 on Sunday morning to do the final clean up turned into 5
for most of the day Sunday. Of coarse, Snodeo days used to see 50 + helpers.
This year, we were barely 30. This becomes extremely taxing on the few -
some of these people well into their sixties and beyond. Frankly, I don't
have a solution at the moment, but I know this drain cannot continue.
Remember, SDR needs Snodeo to survive. There is a direct relationship there
that needs all the members to consider. The funds gained from the event pays
for the replacement groomer and the ever rising fuel costs. No amount of
Poker Runs or raffles can replace Snodeo - say nothing of the economic
impact the show brings to the region. So please, mark March 6-7,2009, and
both sides of the event on the calendar. We need your help.
Have a safe end to the riding season.

How to determine a REAL snowmobile

Prays for snow every night.

Turns on the Weather Channel first thing every morning.

Curses the Weather Channel second thing every morning.

Doesn't like to be passed under any circumstances.

Wants a new snowmobile every year.

Would rather ride than watch the Super Bowl.

Wishes he could forget about the speed limit.

Feels that no snowmobile suit is ever out of fashion, or too dirty to wear.

Would never admit to being tired out when riding with buddies.

Has no trouble choosing between an aftermarket pipe, or a new couch for the living room.

Is about as friendly as a grizzly bear when someone "high marks" him.

Refers to standing around as "wasting daylight."

Thumb twitches when snow is forecast.

Enjoys the smell of two-cycle exhaust and the sound of revving engines.

Carries enough odds and ends in his "possible bag" to make it home, regardless.

Views a heavy, fresh snowfall as an invitation to paradise.

Considers burgers, fries and malts a delicacy.

Can locate gas stations like a coon dog on a hot trail.

Considers his exact sled width when approaching two trees, out of control, and careening downhill.

Always knows (with GPS precision) which way is back.

We have GAS!

Two pumps, so no waiting!

Credit Cards or Debit Cards only!

Serving Regular Unleaded, 89 Octane gas.

(Some stations call it "Plus" grade)

Warming Hut will be selling Octane boost during open hours.

VISA - Master Card and Debit cards

accepted.

Looking for the gas pumps and new Club House and Warming Hut?

Follow signs on Corridor 5/18, 1/2 mile south of Coleman State Park.

Registering Machines

To register your machine, you must either be a recorded member of a NH
snowmobile club or face a $30.00 surcharge per registration. The $30 fee
will go to a new grant in aid fund administrated by the State.

To be a recorded member, fill out our club (or any club) membership and mail the
form with your payment back to the club. Membership with
NHSA is mandatory as of this year for $10.00 for single or family.

When you join our club, we would send you our membership card AND
a membership card with the NHSA logo on the side with your registration number.

You must take the NHSA form with you when you register your snowmobile

Although this sounds simple, it will be a paperwork hassle and the exchange
back and forth will take time. This is why we encourage you to join our club early.

If you have any questions, you can call or write us. You can also e-mail us
through our website.
